Overview

Explorers is a studio for deeper work, leadership, and growing independence — blending strong core skills with meaningful projects and real responsibility.

This studio is designed to meet early adolescence with trust, challenge, and support.

Core Skills + Quests

Explorers participate in the same quest cycles as Discovery, with layered challenges, higher expectations, and deeper inquiry.

Quests run 4–6 weeks and culminate in exhibitions for the community.

Signature Explorers Work

  • Explorers also participate in:
  • Book Club
  • Yearbook
  • Leading a school-wide project

This studio includes greater ownership, stronger habits, and increased leadership opportunities.

Connected Studios

Explorers and Discovery remain connected, with flexibility based on readiness and maturity.

Explorers Studio Approach

  • Continued learning through Quest cycles, with layered challenges and deeper inquiry
  • Increasing expectations for leadership, ownership, independence, and follow-through in all areas of work
  • Socratic discussions to think critically, ask meaningful questions, and pursue deeper understanding
  • Strong focus on writing, discussion, and reflection through Book Club and Quest work
  • Participation in Yearbook and a learner-led school community project, building leadership and real-world responsibility
  • Development of strong work habits, time management, and personal accountability
