Overview
Sprouts is a small studio designed for early independence, play-based learning, and strong support for literacy and core skills.
Learners build foundational skills through games, movement, hands-on work, and meaningful practice. Expectations are clear and gentle, and development is honored at each child’s pace.

Literacy & Core Skills
Wild Oak strengthens literacy by grouping learners by readiness — especially for reading and writing — rather than expecting full mixed-age differentiation at all times.
Support includes:
- Small groups
- Targeted practice
- Pull-outs when needed
- Consistent rhythms for reading, writing, and math
Studio Size
Sprouts is intentionally capped at approximately 15 learners, with one guide — by design, for quality and sustainability.
Weekly Rhythm
- Core skills (reading, writing, math)
- Play-based skill practice and games
- Outdoor time in all seasons
- Project-based learning through quests
- Social-emotional growth in community
Sprouts Studio Approach
- Guides who observe, scaffold, and gently support learners as they grow
- Play-based learning that blends Montessori principles with the Tools of the Mind curriculum
- Learning through games, imagination, movement, and hands-on materials
- Strong emphasis on social-emotional development, impulse control, and self-regulation
- Small-group literacy instruction to support developing readers and writers at their individual readiness
